Nico Rosberg: I love this double-points rule

Nico Rosberg insists the battle for the 2014 crown will go down to the wire in Abu Dhabi due to the new double-points rule.

Having led the Drivers’ Championship for most of the season, Rosberg has slipped to 17 points behind his Mercedes team-mate Hamilton in the standings after the Brit won four consecutive races.

Although there are only three grands prix left this campaign, the title is likely to be decided at the season finale as F1’s new double points rule will come into effect in the United Arab Emirates.

“I will not give up in the Championship and will fight until the checkered flag in Abu Dhabi,” Rosberg is quoted as saying by Germany’s SID.

Adding with a big grin on his face: “I love this rule.”

Rosberg has won only four races compared to Hamilton’s nine, but the German is confident he can be victorious in the next three races, starting with this weekend’s United States GP.

“I know I can win every race,” he said. “My tactic has not really changed. I want to try to win every grand prix and attack all out.”
